In order to achieve our goal of a balanced program, each skater on the team will be expected to become proficient in the skills listed below for their team. All turns must be executed with uniform speed, good edge quality and upper body control. Spirals must be held at half the length of the ice, with the free-leg higher than the skating hip. These moves will be incorporated into our warm-up at the beginning of each rehearsal, but additional time outside of class may be required in order to master each of these skills. Other skills may be added to this list throughout the season. Each skater is responsible for maintaining her skills and abilities in order to achieve a unified presentation as a team. If you need help outside of class, please discuss it with Miss Alison or your private lesson coach.
